The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO) is a member driven association of communications professionals that provides leadership; influences public safety communications decisions of government and industry; promotes professional development; and, fosters the development and use of technology for the benefit of the public.

IACP's leadership consists of the operating chief executives of international, federal, state and local agencies of all sizes.

Established in 1873, the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) is a powerful network of more than 12,000 chief fire and emergency officers. Our members are the world's leading experts in fire fighting, emergency medical services, terrorism response, hazardous materials spills, natural disasters, search & rescue, and public safety legislation.

The mission of the IJIS Institute is to apply the expertise of industry to assist the justice and public safety community in the innovative and effective use of technologies to better share information in a way that benefits industry, the public sector, and society as a whole.

VisionAIR has a strong commitment to the development and adoption of industry standards to improve system interoperability. Several VisionAIR employees hold key positions on several industry and standards committees, including Governance, NDEX, XML Advisory, LEITSAC, GJXDM, and the IJIS Board of Directors. NENA's Mission is to foster the technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system (9-1-1). In carrying out its mission, NENA promotes research, planning, training and education. The protection of human life, the preservation of property, and the maintenance of general community security are among NENA's objectives.

Through the years, NSA has been involved in numerous programs to enable sheriffs, their deputies, chiefs of police, and others in the field of criminal justice to perform their jobs in the best possible manner and to better serve the people of their city, counties or jurisdictions.

As a network of state and local justice information sharing practitioners, JISPnet is interested in best practices, standards, and resources for solving the issues of information sharing within criminal and juvenile justice at local, state, and national levels. JISPnet exists today as a group of committed justice information systems practitioners from various projects and jurisdictions across the nation who work together to help facilitate communication and assistance among project and program managers.

The NCJA serves as the formal mechanism for informing the Congress of state, tribal and local criminal and juvenile justice needs and accomplishments. Through collaboration with practitioners and policymakers, the NCJA also communicates state, tribal and local views on crime prevention and control to federal executive and other public and private agencies at all levels.
